Aerial Long Beach Island

Aerial Long Beach Island

Aerial photos of Long Beach Island during a sunrise helicopter flight with a close friend. From the moment we took off, I could tell it was going to be a nice flight–the light was beautiful and the winds were calm.  It was the first time my friend was in a helicopter.  From the sound of his voice over the headset he was clearly enjoying the ride.

He was in the front left seat, the pilot was in the front right, and I was in the back with both left and right doors off.  I forgot that at 150 mph, I shouldn’t stick my hand out to wave at people on the beach waving up at us.  Oh well, I am a fast learner.  That didn’t happen again.

We took off from a small airport near Glasboro, flew east over the Atlantic City Expressway and the NJ Pine Barrens, flew north up the coast of Long Beach Island, circled the Barnegat Light, headed west over the LBI Expressway and then back to Cross Keys Airport where we had taken off from about 75 minutes earlier.  Great way to spend a morning.
